Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man who intruded into the Moi Airbase in Eastleigh, Nairobi. The man was killed by military personnel on duty after entering the facility early Thursday morning via the Nairobi River, which passes through the compound.
According to officials, the intruder was spotted walking into the main quarters at around 2 a.m. Military personnel reportedly challenged him to surrender, but he ignored their commands, prompting them to open fire.
Following the incident, the personnel contacted the police to assist in investigating the matter. Authorities are now working to determine the man’s identity and his motive for entering the heavily secured facility. The body has been taken to the mortuary for identification, an autopsy, and further procedures.
