Al Hilal star Neymar Jr. will not be registered to participate in the second half of the Saudi Pro League season, according to head coach Jorge Jesus. However, the Brazilian forward will remain eligible to play in the Asian Champions League.
“Ney will not be registered [for the league], but he can participate in the Asian Champions League,” Jesus confirmed.
Acknowledging Neymar’s reputation as a world-class player, Jesus explained the decision was influenced by the player’s physical condition.
“Physically, Neymar Jr can no longer perform at the level we are all used to seeing,” he stated.
Despite this setback, Neymar remains under contract with Al Hilal, leaving his future uncertain. Jesus hinted that decisions regarding his career may rest with both the player and the club administration.
Meanwhile, Chicago Fire from Major League Soccer (MLS) has reportedly expressed interest in the 31-year-old forward. However, negotiations have not progressed, with no green light to initiate discussions.
As Neymar’s situation unfolds, fans and clubs alike remain keen to see how the next chapter of his illustrious career will play out.
