Arsenal and Manchester United will both depart from their traditional red kits during their FA Cup third-round clash at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The two Premier League giants, with Arsenal boasting a record 14 FA Cup titles and United close behind with 13, will compete for a place in the fourth round of the prestigious competition.
Manchester United, who claimed last season’s title with a 2-1 victory over Manchester City in May 2024, will wear their blue away kit for the encounter. Arsenal, on the other hand, will don an all-white kit as part of the “No More Red” campaign, which aims to combat knife crime and youth violence in London. The initiative, launched after the tragic 2008 murder of 16-year-old Arsenal fan Ben Kinsella, partners with the football club to raise awareness and promote positive community change.
This will be the fourth time Arsenal’s men’s team has worn the symbolic all-white kit. They previously secured a win against Oxford United in the FA Cup in 2023 but suffered defeats to Liverpool in 2024 and Nottingham Forest in 2022. The unusual kit choices for this high-stakes match underline the importance of both sporting and social objectives in the footballing world.
