William Kabogo, the nominee for ICT and the Digital Economy Cabinet Secretary, has disclosed that his net worth is approximately Ksh.3.01 billion. Speaking during his vetting at County Hall, Kabogo detailed his wealth, which includes assets in real estate, company shareholding, land, and personal property.
“In residential houses, my total net worth is Ksh.700 million, movable assets of about Ksh.40 million, land and farm about Ksh.756 million, cash and current assets of about Ksh.64 million, and interest and shares in companies approximately Ksh.1.5 billion. A total of about Ksh.3.01 billion,” Kabogo stated.
The declaration sparked mixed reactions among Members of Parliament, some of whom questioned the accuracy of his figures. Suna East MP Junet Mohamed specifically took issue with Kabogo’s valuation of Ksh.40 million for movable assets, including vehicles, suggesting it was underestimated.
Junet humorously pointed out that one of Kabogo’s cars alone could be worth Ksh.40 million, implying that the stated figure might not align with the former Kiambu Governor’s public image of wealth and flamboyance.
