Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has expressed strong confidence that President William Ruto will secure a second term in 2027, dismissing any concerns about political instability.
Speaking during the Kerio Valley Interdenominational Prayers in Tot, Elgeyo Marakwet County, on Sunday, January 5, Sudi affirmed that Ruto would serve two uninterrupted terms as Kenya’s Head of State.
Sudi emphasized Kenya’s history of not having a one-term president, stating:
“Have you ever seen a country where a president serves for one term? They will jump up and down, but in the end, everything will be okay. The president has eight more years before handing over the reins.”
The MP criticized those accusing the Kenya Kwanza government of mishandling rising cases of abductions, defending Ruto’s leadership and urging detractors to cease their attacks.
In a lighter moment, Sudi humorously criticized the president for not appointing him as the Interior Cabinet Secretary. He remarked that, under his leadership, critics of the government would cease, saying:
“If I were the Interior CS, no one would dare criticize the government or abuse President Ruto.”
Sudi’s remarks come amidst growing scrutiny of the government’s handling of security concerns and other challenges facing the country.
