Jackson Kuria Kimani, popularly known as Cop Shakur, a prison officer who gained prominence during the anti-finance bill protests for his outspoken criticism of the government, has been arrested.
Kuria was apprehended on Saturday by police officers in Naivasha and detained at Naivasha Law Courts.
According to police reports, Kuria was found in possession of a toy gun at the time of his arrest. The court has ruled that he be detained for 24 hours while police conduct a ballistic analysis to determine whether the weapon is a real firearm.
