A Kenyan woman has accused popular YouTuber Thee Pluto of being a deadbeat dad.
The woman, using the handle @trisha.khalid.bac7, jumped on the viral “Useless thing I got my baby” TikTok trend, where women upload images of their children alongside men they claim are absentee fathers.
In the now-deleted video, she included a photo of Thee Pluto, implying he had abandoned his alleged child
Pluto responded through his Instagram Stories, warning that he would take legal action against the TikToker for defamation, a move that seemed to push the woman to issue an apology via another video.
In the apologetic clip, she distanced herself from the video, claiming she wasn’t the one who posted it.
“I want to make something clear about the trending video. About the useless thing I got my child involving Pluto and my child. I am not the one who posted the video,” she said.
“The account is usually used by my niece, the one who takes care of my kid. She is the one who controls the account and all the videos on this account, she is the one who posts. She saw the challenge and did the video but I never saw her post it.”
She also insisted she doesn’t post her child on social media and had no idea the video had been uploaded until she received calls while at work.
Attempting to diffuse the situation, she added:
“Ilikuwa jokes.”
However, despite the apology, she later deleted the apology video as well.
