Celebrated Kenyan musician Nameless, born David Mathenge, is mourning the passing of his father, Mathenge Snr.
In a heartfelt message shared on Instagram, Nameless wrote:
“Rest well Daddy. I am blessed beyond measure to have had you as a father!”
Nameless rose to fame in the late 1990s with his hit single “Megarider” after winning a nationwide star-search competition. He went on to become one of the pioneers of the Kapuka sound, helping define the direction of Kenya’s urban music with a music career spanning over two decades.
Beyond the stage, Nameless is also a trained architect from the University of Nairobi. He has successfully balanced his creative and professional careers with remarkable grace.
Nameless is married to Wahu Kagwi, an award-winning musician and actress. The beloved power couple share two daughters and are often celebrated for their long-lasting relationship and family values in Kenya’s entertainment scene.
