Celebrated Kenyan musician Nameless, born David Mathenge, is mourning the passing of his father, Mathenge Snr.

In a heartfelt message shared on Instagram, Nameless wrote:

“Rest well Daddy. I am blessed beyond measure to have had you as a father!”

Nameless rose to fame in the late 1990s with his hit single “Megarider” after winning a nationwide star-search competition. He went on to become one of the pioneers of the Kapuka sound, helping define the direction of Kenya’s urban music with a music career spanning over two decades.

Beyond the stage, Nameless is also a trained architect from the University of Nairobi. He has successfully balanced his creative and professional careers with remarkable grace.

Nameless is married to Wahu Kagwi, an award-winning musician and actress. The beloved power couple share two daughters and are often celebrated for their long-lasting relationship and family values in Kenya’s entertainment scene.

Condolences and messages of support have since poured in from fans, fellow artists, and public figures across the country, many praising the strength and legacy of the Mathenge family.
