Disney’s superhero movie ‘Thunderbolts’ tops box office chart for second weekend

Disney and Marvel Studios’ superhero film “Thunderbolts*” stayed atop the North American box office chart on its second weekend, pulling in 33.1 million U.S. dollars, data from measurement firm Comscore showed on Sunday.

The film based on Marvel Comics featuring the team Thunderbolts has grossed 128.5 million dollars in North America for a global total of 272.2 million dollars.

Directed by Jake Schreier, “Thunderbolts*” is the 36th entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and features a cast including Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, Wyatt Russell, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and David Harbour. The film had a reported budget of 180 million dollars.

In second place, Warner Bros. Pictures’ horror film “Sinners” gained 21.1 million dollars on its fourth weekend, bringing its North American total to 214.4 million dollars.

Fantasy comedy film “A Minecraft Movie” from Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures took third place, raking in 7.95 million dollars on its sixth weekend
