A 50-year-old man was burned to death by an angry mob in Sungubo village, Kisii County, after confessing to killing, cooking, and feeding his wife’s body to their children in a shocking case that has left the community reeling.
The man, identified as Stephen Onserio, reportedly admitted to murdering his wife in cold blood inside their home. According to Nyamache OCPD Kipkulei Kipkemoi, villagers became suspicious after the woman went missing and confronted Onserio, who then led them to the scene of the gruesome crime.
“They asked him about the whereabouts of his wife and took him to his home. When they got there, they found body parts suspected to be of his wife,” said OCPD Kipkemoi in a statement to sauce.co.ke.
The OCPD also revealed that Onserio had previously been arrested in 2007 for murdering his first wife, but was released two years ago under unclear circumstances. He was widely known in the village for his cruel and disturbing behavior.
“In 2007 he killed his wife, that is why the community was suspicious,” added Kipkemoi.
In a horrifying twist, Onserio is also accused of impregnating one of his daughters, who has since been rescued and placed under the care of neighbors.
Upon discovering the gruesome remains in Onserio’s home, enraged villagers beat him and set him on fire, resulting in his death before police could arrive.
