Kenya’s rising afrofusion powerhouse, Kodong Klan, has officially announced the cancellation of their highly anticipated Mombasa concert and the postponement of their Nairobi performance, citing unexpected internal factors.

The announcement, made on the group’s verified social media platforms, caught fans by surprise, especially those eagerly waiting for the final leg of the group’s nationwide ‘Disko’ Album tour, which has so far graced Kisumu, Meru, and Eldoret.

“We regret to inform our Mombasa fans that the concert has been cancelled. The Nairobi show has also been pushed forward due to unforeseen factors. A new date will be shared soon,” the group wrote.

Ticket Holders Can Transfer to Nairobi Show

For fans who had already purchased tickets for the Mombasa event, the group assured them that they will be allowed to use their tickets for the Nairobi show once a new date is confirmed. This flexible approach is expected to help minimize disruptions for their dedicated fanbase.

More updates on ticket transfers and event dates will be shared via their official platforms and also through local entertainment media.

Who is Kodong Klan?

Formed in May 2024, Kodong Klan comprises some of Kenya’s finest afrofusion talents:

  • Okello Max
  • Bensoul (formerly of Sol Generation)
  • Mordecai (H_art the Band)
  • Luhya Heat
  • Ywaya Tajiri
  • Coster Ojwang’
  • Israel Onyach

Their unique blend of vocal excellence, live instrumentation, and storytelling has made them a fast-rising force in the Kenyan music scene.

The group’s debut album Disko, released in December 2024, received widespread acclaim for its originality and innovation, marking a fresh chapter for Kenyan music. Explore more trending Kenyan albums here.

Countrywide Tour

Since June 2025, the group has been on an ambitious countrywide tour that saw packed performances in Kisumu, Eldoret, and Meru, with fans praising their live energy and stage chemistry.

Unfortunately, the tour has now hit a snag.

“While we’re disappointed, we’re working to ensure that when we return to Nairobi, the experience will be bigger and better,” said group member Bensoul.
