Popular content creator Mitchelle Joyce Akoth Oruko, widely known as Mjaka Mfine, has narrated a harrowing experience after falling victim to a daylight robbery in Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD).

Speaking on Milele FM with host Tony Mwirigi, Mjaka revealed that a gang of thieves snatched her human hair wig valued at KSh17,000.

“Human hair inaanza na Ksh15K and above. Yangu ilikuwa Ksh17K,” she lamented, adding that she did not even have the chance to call for help.

Rise of Mugging Gangs in Nairobi CBD

The incident highlights renewed concerns about rising cases of muggings and violent robberies in the city center. Recent reports show that gangs are preying on unsuspecting pedestrians along busy streets such as Moi Avenue, Kimathi Street, and around popular food joints.

Criminals are reportedly using intimidation, threats, and deception to corner their victims. In some cases, attackers threaten to smear human waste on those who resist, while others allegedly drug victims before robbing them.

Public Concern Growing

The resurgence of these brazen daylight crimes has sparked fear among city residents, with many calling on security agencies to intensify patrols and restore safety in the CBD.
