Detectives have launched investigations into the murder of a 30-year-old woman whose body was discovered in her house following a domestic altercation in Mutengo Village, Kanyariri, Kabete.
The deceased, identified as Jackline Kangashi, was found dead on Wednesday morning, lying in a pool of blood inside her rented house. Police said she had deep panga cuts on the neck, inflicted during the fatal assault.
According to officers from the Kabete Police Station, the suspected killer — believed to be her husband — fled the scene immediately after the attack.
Children Found Traumatized at the Scene
Tragically, the couple’s three children, aged nine, six, and three, were found inside the house, visibly shaken, as their mother’s body lay on the floor.
Police recovered a blood-stained panga believed to have been used in the murder. The children were later taken in by their uncle, who was called to the scene.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the couple had quarreled earlier in the night, before the man allegedly turned violent and attacked Kangashi.
Police Hunt for the Suspect
Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) are now pursuing the suspect, who remains at large. The body was moved to the Kiambu County Mortuary for autopsy as investigations continue.
Police have condemned the incident, urging couples experiencing domestic conflicts to seek mediation or counseling instead of resorting to violence.
Domestic-related murders have been on the rise in Kiambu County, despite ongoing community efforts to promote peaceful conflict resolution.
