Arsenal delivered a commanding performance to sweep aside their neighbours Tottenham Hotspur 4-1 in the Premier League and claim the bragging rights to the North London derby.
The result not only extended Arsenal’s momentum, but also underscored Tottenham’s mounting troubles.
Arsenal have now won four consecutive games against their London neighbours who are enduring a mixed season.
First Half: Gunners Take Control
Arsenal began to dominate early and broke the deadlock in the 36th minute. A clever through-ball from Martín Zubimendi found Leandro Trossard, who shifted his defender and drilled a low finish into the far corner.
Just five minutes later, Arsenal doubled their lead. A chip from Declan Rice found Eberechi Eze, who danced past a challenge and fired a precise drive past the keeper. That made it 2-0 going into half-time.
Second Half: Eze Hat-Trick & Spurs’ Brief Glimmer
The second half began much like the first ended — with Arsenal still in charge.
Within a minute of kick-off, Eze bagged his second with a composed finish after another assist from Arsenal’s midfield. 3-0 and Spurs were already on the back foot.
Tottenham did respond with a moment of brilliance. Spurs players harassed Zubimendi and dispossesed him of the ball, a rare mistake from the Spanish midfield maestro.
Richarlison then picked up the ball near halfway, spotted the keeper off his line, and lobbed a superb chip into the net in the 55th minute.
With the scores at 3-1, the crowd dared to hope. Tottenham upped the ante and saw more possession and entry into the Arsenal third, while looking for their second goal, and a way back into the game.
But Arsenal, calm and relentless, sealed the deal in the 76th minute when Eze completed his hat-trick with a curled finish from the edge of the box — his third strike of the afternoon. 4-1, full-time.
Arteta will also be relieved with the return to fitness of Noni Madueke who came in the final quarter as a substitute and showed glimpses of his speedy runs that terrorizes defenders.
The gunners now sit top of the table with 29 points and will breathe a sigh of relief for the moment as Manchester City who seemed eager to catch them at the top dropped points away at Newcastle. Chelsea, sit second on the table with 23 points.
Arsenal next meet Vincent Kompany’s Bayern Munich team at the Emirates, while Spurs will travel to Paris to meet PSG. Both games will be played on 26th November 2025.
