Dancehall musician KRG the Don has dismissed growing online rumours claiming he disappeared from social media because he went broke.
In a video shared on his Instagram page on Thursday, November 27, 2025, the entertainer displayed wads of crisp KSh1,000 notes while addressing the speculation head-on.
“Silence Doesn’t Mean Poverty” — KRG
KRG criticised those who concluded that his recent quiet spell was a sign of financial trouble, saying young people often misunderstand why public figures sometimes withdraw from social platforms.
“When someone is quiet, it often means they are focused on their work and their life, and they don’t want unnecessary noise,” he said.
He added that staying offline to concentrate on personal matters does not equate to financial strain.
Calls Out ‘Ignorant’ Speculation
The musician said it was ignorant and disrespectful for people to assume he had money problems simply because he was not posting regularly.
“Whenever you mention my name, never associate it with poverty. This money I have is real, it’s not tissue paper,” he stated, flashing bundles of cash.
KRG insisted that his success remains intact and that only those who observe quietly understand his lifestyle and achievements.
“I Was Born Rich, I Will Die Rich”
KRG went on to condemn gossipers who only start talking when he takes a break from public view, urging them to focus on their own progress instead of monitoring him.
“Don’t bring poverty into my name. Just because I stay quiet, you start talking nonsense saying I’m broke,” he said.
The musician further emphasised that people’s opinions do not determine his reality.
“I am still rich. I was born rich, and I will die rich.”
KRG maintained that he had been organising his life and working for his family, not struggling financially as rumourmongers suggested.
