A woman accused of soliciting and providing support to a terrorist organization has been arrested in Eastleigh, Nairobi.

The suspect, Asho Kassim Hassan, was apprehended during a raid conducted by detectives from the Anti-Terrorism Police Unit (ATPU).

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the arrest came after an intelligence-led operation that guided officers to her hideout along Major Muriithi Street in Eastleigh.

Passport, Mobile Phone Seized

During the operation, detectives recovered a passport and a mobile phone, which have been handed over to forensic experts for data extraction and analysis. Investigators are working to establish whether the suspect is part of a wider network.

Suspect Awaiting Arraignment

DCI confirmed that the woman has been detained and is undergoing processing ahead of her expected court appearance.

“Through intensified intelligence operations, enhanced inter-agency coordination, and sustained community partnerships, the DCI remains steadfast in safeguarding the country and ensuring that every Kenyan can go about their daily lives without fear,”

Security agencies continue to urge members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
