Geofrey Mosiria Defends Content Creator Mjaka Mfine Over Viral Adult Video Claims

Nairobi County Chief Officer in charge of Citizen Engagement and Customer Service, Geofrey Mosiria, has come out strongly to defend popular content creator Mitchell, widely known as Mjaka Mfine, following viral allegations linking her to a leaked adult video.

The claims, which spread rapidly across social media platforms, alleged that Mitchell was featured in an explicit video circulating online—an incident some users sarcastically described as “uniting Kenyans.” However, Mosiria has dismissed the allegations as false, malicious, and defamatory.

Mosiria Says He Verified Facts Before Speaking

Unlike many public figures who rush to respond to trending online issues, Mosiria explained that he deliberately chose to remain silent initially in order to establish the truth.

“I chose not to rush to comment. Instead, I took time to gather facts, review evidence, and consult relevant government experts to establish the truth,” Mosiria stated.

He noted that his role within Nairobi County obligates him to protect residents from misinformation, character assassination, and digital abuse.

‘That Is Not Her’ — Mosiria Clears Mjaka Mfine

Addressing the allegations directly, Mosiria categorically stated that Mitchell is not the individual appearing in the circulating video.

“For those who genuinely know our sister, the truth is clear: that is not her. I know her personally, and the person in the circulating video is completely different,” he said.

His remarks are among the strongest public defenses of the influencer since the controversy erupted, offering reassurance to her supporters and followers.

Warning Against Digital Defamation

Mosiria, who described himself as a young person familiar with online spaces, issued a stern warning about the dangers of digital defamation and cyberbullying.

He cautioned that spreading unverified content can permanently damage a person’s reputation, mental health, and career prospects.

“In today’s digital age, false narratives can destroy livelihoods and future opportunities within minutes. We must be responsible with the content we share,” he warned.

Possible Motive Behind the Viral Claims

The Chief Officer also suggested that the viral allegations could have been fueled by jealousy, rivalry, or fear, especially in the highly competitive content creation industry.

“In a highly competitive digital space, it is possible that rivals, fear, or jealousy contributed to the spread of this false and damaging content,” Mosiria noted.

Call for Responsible Social Media Use

Mosiria urged Kenyans to verify information before sharing it online and called on influencers, bloggers, and social media users to uphold ethical standards.

His statement adds to growing calls for accountability in Kenya’s digital space amid rising cases of online defamation and character assassination.
