Lydia Wanjiru has shared an update on her post-surgery recovery, expressing excitement about returning to the gym following her recent cosmetic procedures.
In a lively Instagram post on Thursday, February 19, 2026, Lydia opened up about her transformation after undergoing liposuction, a tummy tuck, and a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL).
“I went to the bathroom, and then I’ll look at myself in the mirror… Ah! I look so good! And for the first time, I’m really excited and looking forward to the day my doctor will tell me, ‘Lydia, now you’re good to go to the gym,’ because I’m going to be flexing in that gym,” she shared.
She added that she looks forward to confidently showing off her results once she resumes workouts.
“And there’ll be someone just looking at me, thinking, ‘Guy, I wonder how long he’s been in the gym. He’s achieved that body…’ Ah! And I’m dancing the whole time,” she said.
Speaking on the Reality of Cosmetic Surgery
Lydia also candidly addressed misconceptions surrounding fitness culture and cosmetic enhancements. She noted that some trainers, including male trainers, undergo procedures such as six-pack liposuction to achieve a sculpted look rather than relying solely on workouts.
According to her, many people go to the gym primarily for maintenance and cardiovascular health rather than drastic physical transformation.
“You’re going to the gym to achieve weight loss, toning, and so on… but there’s a difference: you’re just there to maintain your body, to achieve cardiovascular health… Guys, it’s a business,” she explained.
Commitment to Transparency
Despite acknowledging the challenges of recovery and public perception, Lydia emphasised that her fitness journey post-surgery is driven by personal goals rather than comparison with others.
“I’m excited! Oh my God, for the first time, I’m really, really looking forward to going to the gym,” she said.
She also assured her followers that she will remain open about her cosmetic procedures.
“For anyone who will care to ask me, I’ll tell them the truth… Let me tell you the truth. There’s a difference here,” she stated, underscoring the importance of honesty and awareness in conversations around beauty and fitness.
