Kenyan woman Miss Choice, who appeared in viral videos leaked by a Russian streamer, has opened up about what she describes as one of the most difficult decisions she has had to live with — accepting KSh30,000 from controversial pastor Victor Kanyari.
Speaking in an interview with SPM Buzz, Choice said the money has brought her nothing but regret.
“I Did Not Want to Sell Out for 30K”
According to Choice, she had initially made it clear to Kanyari that she did not want financial assistance.
“I made it clear to pastor Kanyari, I don’t want money. I did not want to sell out for 30k. Secondly, 30k is not helping me,” she said, adding that the amount was never going to make a meaningful difference in her life.
She explained that what changed her mind was not the cash itself but the message that accompanied it.
“That Preaching Convinced Me”
Choice alleged that Kanyari used scripture strategically to persuade her. She claimed that three bouncers were sent to bring her in before a sermon tailored to her situation was delivered.
“He said, you can never be an island, you can never be a mountain that you don’t need someone’s help, even the greatest people had to pass through men of God. That was the preaching of that day, and that convinced me. I asked myself, ‘wait, am I too proud to accept help?’”
It is a question she now wishes she had answered differently.
“I regret. I deeply regret,” she admitted.
Considered Returning the Money
When asked whether she planned to return the KSh30,000, Choice revealed she had considered doing so but was discouraged by friends.
“I wish I returned it to jana (yesterday). But when I called my friends they told me niko na ufala, nitumie hiyo pesa,” she said, suggesting those around her urged her to keep the money.
Her remarks have sparked fresh debate online about influence, vulnerability, and the pressures faced by young women navigating public scrutiny.
