Kenyan singer Nadia Mukami has opened up about her love life, revealing that despite her breakup with fellow musician Arrow Bwoy, she still believes in finding love again.
Speaking during a podcast interview, the award-winning singer said the end of her previous relationship had taught her valuable lessons, which have shaped what she now looks for in a future partner.
Mukami, who shares two children with Arrow Bwoy, recently disclosed that the couple had separated while she was pregnant with their second child. She explained that although their relationship had ended, they continued making public appearances together because of existing brand partnerships and endorsement deals they had committed to.
Despite the heartbreak, the singer said she remains hopeful about love and is open to settling down again with the right person.
“I’m a lover girl, so I have not given up on love. But now I have lessons that I have learned,” she said.
Mukami outlined several qualities she believes are important in her next relationship, saying she would prefer someone who already has children, is older than her, financially stable and emotionally mature.
“Number one, you must have kids. I cannot date someone who does not have kids; they will not understand me. You have to be older than me; I cannot do younger guys. You have to be really rich,” she said.
She added that she would only consider a partner whose previous relationship is completely over and who maintains healthy boundaries with their former partner.
“Either separated and your ex has moved on, or they are single. If you have kids, you must be providing for them. And you are not attached to your ex,” she added.
Mukami’s candid remarks have sparked widespread reactions online, with fans sharing mixed opinions about her list of relationship expectations. While some praised her for being honest about what she wants after her past experiences, others debated whether her standards were realistic.
The singer, however, maintained that her preferences are based on lessons learned and a desire to build a healthier, more stable relationship in the future.
