Kenyan skater Kelvin Kiarie has renewed his appeal for financial support as he seeks to represent the country at the 2026 World Skate Games in Paraguay.
Kiarie says he risks missing the global competition despite already registering to participate, following continued challenges in securing the funds needed for travel and other expenses.
The skater revealed that he has already missed three international skating competitions because of a lack of financial support, raising concerns that the same situation could prevent him from competing in Paraguay.
Kiarie has now appealed to Kenyans, sponsors and well-wishers to come to his aid and help him raise the money required to travel to the World Skate Games.
He says he has also made efforts to seek assistance from the government through the Ministry of Sports but has not received the support he needs.
For Kiarie, the funding challenge threatens to derail an opportunity to showcase Kenyan talent on the international stage.
He is therefore calling on individuals, companies and organisations willing to support skating in Kenya to help him fulfil his dream of competing at the 2026 World Skate Games in Paraguay.
