Bishop Ben Kiengei has addressed online rumours claiming that he fathered businesswoman Damaris Muriithi, popularly known as Dama wa Spares’, third child.
The controversy erupted after photos and claims circulated on social media, with some users alleging that the JCM Church pastor was the father of Dama wa Spares’ newborn.
Kiengei has strongly denied the claims, saying the images being circulated online had been manipulated using artificial intelligence.
The bishop also urged social media users to be mindful of the dignity and privacy of the child, amid the growing online speculation.
The claims have attracted widespread attention because of Kiengei and Dama wa Spares’ past relationship as friends and church members.
The two were previously known to be close before their relationship reportedly deteriorated in late 2024, eventually leading to Dama leaving Kiengei’s church.
Despite their fallout, the two have occasionally crossed paths in public, with their interactions attracting attention from their followers.
Kiengei’s latest response has now added another chapter to the long-running public interest surrounding their relationship, as he maintains that the images and allegations circulating online do not reflect reality.
For now, the paternity claims remain unsubstantiated, while Kiengei has maintained that artificial intelligence was used to manipulate the images at the centre of the controversy.
