Friends and family of Ivy Anyango are calling for justice after the decomposing body of the university student was discovered in a water reservoir near hostels behind Daystar University in Athi River.
Anyango, who lived in Rongai, was last heard from on June 8 before her family and friends lost contact with her.
Her body was discovered on September 5 after a hostel caretaker alerted police, prompting investigations into the circumstances surrounding her death.
Blood stains found in hostel room
Detectives reportedly found blood stains inside a nearby hostel room as well as broken panes on a rear window.
The discoveries have raised suspicions that Anyango may have been killed before her body was allegedly taken to the reservoir.
However, investigations are ongoing, and the circumstances surrounding her death have not yet been established.
Family appeals for information
Anyango’s family and friends are now calling on detectives to establish what happened to her and bring those responsible to justice.
They are also appealing to anyone who may have information about her movements from June onwards to come forward and assist investigators.
Police are expected to continue examining the scene and gathering evidence as they seek to establish how Anyango died and how her body ended up in the reservoir.
