Police in Kitengela are investigating the death of a 24-year-old man who is suspected to have committed suicide after killing his 23-year-old girlfriend.

Their two bodies were found at Amani Apartments in Kyangombe estate on Wednesday evening after neighbours noticed they had not left the house for two days which was unusual. The care taker then called the police.

“On Wednesday, no one came out of that apartment and I got curious. I checked the door but it was locked from inside that’s when I alerted the police,” Paul Kanaika, the caretaker, said.

The woman’s body was found naked on the bathroom floor with multiple stab wounds while the man’s body was found in the living room with a single stab wound on the chest. A knife was found beside his body.

Isinya police boss Ancent Kaloki said investigations had been launched to ascertain the motive of the killings.

“We condole with the families. We have launched an investigation to establish what transpired before the bizarre incident,” said the police boss.
