Showboating Tanzanian boxing king Karim Mandonga followed his words with actions by flooring Kenyan boxer Daniel Wanyonyi at the Kenyatta International Convection Centre (KICC) on Sunday morning.
Mandonga alias Mtu Kazi triumphed via a Technical Knock Out (TKO) in the sixth round of their 10-round Super Middleweight contest.
Wanyonyi who had promised to silence Mandonga was literally a pale shadow of himself as the big talking Tanzanian boxer commanded the ring from the first round.
Mandonga had since his arrival in Kenya on Wednesday promised to explode bombs in the form of fists on Wanyonyi’s face.
“I am happy that Kenyans have supported me and hyped the fight really well. The crowd was amazing and I truly never wanted to let them down,” remarked Mandonga after the fight.
“I was really rusty as I had not fought for 5 years. I got the opportunity to fight in the last minute and I felt quite rusty. The. Tanzanian was at his peak but I went out of gas,” said Wanyonyi after the fight.
