Media personality Kamene Goro is set to present her last show at Kiss FM tomorrow, January 27 before being replaced with Sheilah Kwamboka.
And as her last day on the Radio Africa owned radio station approaches, reasons for her abrupt departure are starting to come out.
According to sources, honchos at the station have grown tired of a dip in ratings of the morning show and Kamene is partly to blame.
Having been poached from NRG Radio alongside Andrew Kibe, a move that caused social media buzz, Kamene joined Kiss FM on June 14, 2019 on a salary in the range of half a million shillings.
She however developed a habit of not showing to work and giving lame excuses just an hour to the start of her 6am breakfast show.
“Kamene made a regular habit of not showing up to work, and she could give all manner of excuses most of the time, saying she was sick, and later she would upload photos and videos on social media of someone in a totally different situation,” a source has told Nairobi News.
“When the top management took notice, that caused friction between her and them. There was actually a disciplinary panel set up to look into her conduct, and colleagues she closely worked with said she would text them at 6 AM, an hour to the start of her show, saying she won’t make it to work and request someone to hold her brief,” the source added.
Kwambox will take over the show from Monday next week.
