The identity of the woman who drowned alongside a man after the car they were in plunged into a dam at Titanic area in Juja, Kiambu County has finally been identified by her family.
The body which has been lying at the City Mortuary has been identified as that of Fridah Kamuyu, a 22 year old student.
Her family which hails from Mathioya in Muranga that has been looking for her for a whole week identified her yesterday.
What we know so far is that Fridah was a student at the Mt Kenya University and she lived in Thika where she worked at an Mpesa shop.
She recently celebrated her 22nd birth day.
“Today is my birthday, and my heart is full of nothing but gratitude. I pray that the lord will grant me more special days like this to praise his name,” she said on her Facebook page last July.
It is still not known what sort of a relationship she had with Titus Kiiru, a 39-year-old Kiambu businessman but it is suspected that they were lovers.
On the fateful day, the two are reported to have been together inside a Nissan X-trail vehicle which they had packed at the edge of the dam which is a popular hangout spot for revelers. The vehicle would however plunge into the dam at around 7pm under unclear circumstances.
The woman, who was the first to be retrieved from the dam, could not be immediately identified since she had no identification documents in her possession.
The deceased businessman is set to be laid to rest on Friday.
The circumstances under which the car plunged into the river leading to the death of the two still remain unclear
