Fourteen people were killed after a lorry they were traveling in rolled when its driver tried to avoid a camel that suddenly appeared on the road between Kakuma and Lodwar.
Turkana Central Sub County Police Boss Lemmy Njiru has said that the lorry which was traveling towards Kakuma lost control and landed in a culvert on the right side of the road after rolling twice.
Those killed include eight women, three men and three children who had hitched a ride on the lorry due to a scarcity of public service vehicles. At least 12 others were seriously wounded in the accident that happened last night.
The survivors were all rushed to Lodwar County hospital for treatment.
