Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has claimed that opposition leader Raila Odinga was fired from his role as the African Union (AU) high representative for infrastructure development.

A cloud of controversy has been swirling around the circumstances of Raila’s exit. Yesterday, Odinga claimed that he had requested to be freed “to pursue other urgent matters.”

However, while speaking during the launch of Taifa Gas in Mombasa County today, Gachagua alleged that the former Prime Minister was sacked over absenteeism and demonstrations.
