A businessman was on Wednesday killed by armed thugs in broad daylight in Kibra Constituency. Eyewitnesses say that the man known as Ngugi was shot by two thugs right outside his shop.

It is said that the thugs first ordered the man to surrender all the cash he had before they shot him.

“The man was about to go to the market when he was accosted by the thugs. They first started conversing in a local dialect before ordering him to surrender the cash,” said an eyewitness.

“When he saw them, he tried hiding the money but they had already seen him. They then fired at him and shot him,” said the witness.

The incident reportedly threw the entire area into a frenzy causing helpless residents to start screaming. In a bid to get away, the thugs then started shooting in the air to disperse anyone who might have thought of pursuing them.

Police arrived at the scene of the crime 20 minutes after the incident despite the whole ordeal happening right outside the police station. The man was rushed to the hospital where he later succumbed to the gunshot wounds.
