The death toll in the Naivasha accident has risen to 17 after three more patients succumbed to their injuries while undergoing treatment.
At least 10 Pwani University students had died by Friday morning as the rest continue to fight for their lives in different hospitals following the accident on the Nairobi-Nakuru highway on Thursday.
Preliminary investigations show that the brakes of the bus failed after it hit a bump. The students who were on the bus told police officers that they were told to wear their seat belts moments before the accident.
