Police in Nairobi are searching for suspects after a man was found stabbed to death and his body dumped in Kahawa West, Nairobi. The victim, George Kithinji, 35, was found lying dead in a yam plantation within Soweto informal settlement on April 25.

Police believe he was killed in his house before he was dumped at the plantation.

“Officers who visited his house found bloodstains on the mattress. Also recovered were two blood-stained kitchen knives which have been kept as exhibits,” a police statement read in part.

According to the police, this indicated the man was killed in the house before the body was dragged to the farm. Neighbours and members of the public who learned of his death retaliated by attacking his wife as they suspected she might have stabbed her husband.

“When word went round that the man had been killed in his house and his body dragged to the farm, they attacked the wife with blows and stones before she was rescued by police,” police added.

Police have since launched investigations to establish the motive behind the incident.
