Media personalities Kamene Goro and Shaffie Weru are set to make a come back on the airwaves this week through NRG Radio.

The duo who were fired by Radio Africa will form a tag team on NRG Transit together with Dj Pierra Makena.

Kamene has this morning put up a poster announcing her new gig.

“Good Morning My Loves!!!!!!! @shaffieweru @pierramakenaofficial do you think they are ready for this one? @nrgradiokenya,” Kamene Goro shared.

NRG Transit which runs every weekday from 3pm to 7pm is NRG Radio’s most highly rated show. Its current presenters are Mwalimu Rachael and Dj Exclusive. The two are most likely headed to the morning show which currently under the stewardship of King Kalala and the Three Men Army.

By introducing Kamene, Shaffie and Dj Pierra on afternoon show and moving Dj Exclusive and Mwalimu Rachel to the morning, NRG intends to shove up its ratings for their breakfast show.

Kamene is making a comeback to NRG Radio years after being poached by Radio Africa Group to host The Morning Kiss alongside Andrew Kibe.

Kibe and Kamene were poached by Radio Africa group to replace Adelle Onyango who hanged her boots after 7 years. At that time Kiss 100 was also re-branding with a completely new studio.

Kamene Goro left Kiss FM in January 2023 and was replaced by Sheila Kwamboka aka Kwambox.

As for Shaffie, he will be joining NRG Radio, weeks after landing a new job with Nairobi County.

The former Kiss FM presenter was tasked to head the events and branding docket at Nairobi County for the next five years.

“Looking forward to making Nairobi work and be great again just as it’s indicated in the Governor’s manifesto,” Shaffie Weru said.

Shaffie, a radio veteran was among three breakfast show presenters who were relieved off their duties at Homeboyz Radio – through its parent company, Radio Africa – in March 2018 over comments they made on air that elicited massive uproar.
