Hollywood star Tia Mowry and her now ex-husband Cory Hardict have finalised their split after 14 years of marriage.
According to court documents the couple “entered into a written agreement regarding their property and their marriage or domestic partnership rights, including support.”
As per the terms of their divorce Mowry who starred in the 90’s sitcom ‘Sister Sister’ will have joint custody of their children.
The former couple share two children together, Cree who is 11, and Cairo who is four. Mowry also asked that their premarital agreement, which prohibited spousal support, be upheld.
“I have always been honest with my fans, and today is no different. I wanted to share that Cory and I have decided to go our separate ways. These decisions are never easy, and not without sadness,” wrote Mowry on her social media pages immediately after the divorce was finalised.
“We will maintain a friendship as we co-parent our beautiful children. I am grateful for all the happy times we had together and want to thank my friends, family and fans for your love and support as we start this new chapter moving forward in our lives.”
News that the couple’s marriage had hit turbulence first came to light in October last year. Mowry took to Instagram to announce that she was separating from Cory.
However, she also promised that they would maintain a friendship.
Alongside a black-and-white photograph of them together, she wrote: “I have always been honest with my fans, and today is no different. I wanted to share that Cory and I have decided to go our separate ways. These decisions are never easy, and not without sadness. We will maintain a friendship as we co-parent our beautiful children. I am grateful for all the happy times we had together and want to thank my friends, family and fans for your love and support as we start this new chapter moving forward in our lives.”
