Eight officers from the KDF Special Forces lost their lives on Tuesday after the vehicle they were travelling in set off an improvised explosive device at Bodhei area along the border of Lamu and Garissa counties.

Unfortunately, all the officers lost their lives on the spot due to the intensity of the explosion. The bodies of the deceased officers have been recovered, but due to the severe damage caused by the explosion, their identities have yet to be established.

Investigations are underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the attack and to apprehend those responsible. The loss of these brave officers is a devastating blow to their families, colleagues, and the nation as a whole. Our thoughts and condolences go out to the families of the fallen heroes during this difficult time.
