Police in Ongata Rongai have launched investigations after a mother allegedly killed her two young children, and stabbed her husband businessman Rodgers Andere three times before attempting to take her life.

The couple who are currently admitted at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH), in critical condition were first rushed to Sinai Health Centre covered in blood before being transferred to the referral hospital.

According to the local chief who was the first one at the scene, neighbours said that the couple had an argument in their house at Taaria Apartments along Maasai Lodge Road, minutes later they heard the husband calling for help.

Police said that the woman allegedly stabbed her husband, Rodgers Andere three times, on the head and neck, after he arrived home at around 1am. The 30-year-old man managed to escape and ran outside the house bleeding and sought help from neighbours.

According to police, Christine Karimi, 28 and a mother of two, who remained behind, is said to have locked the doors before killing her two children aged six and two by stabbing them.

According to a police report, Karimi, who remained behind, is said to have locked the doors before allegedly killing her two children; Amani Otieno (6) and Tyrel Agogo (2) by stabbing them before she turned the knife on herself.

Police were called to the scene and collected the bodies of the two children who were still in their bed to the mortuary. Kajiado North Police Commander Hussein Gura said they recovered the murder weapon which is a kitchen knife and have launched an investigation.
