WhatsApp has been continuously introducing new features, and the latest addition is the ability to send quick video messages to other users. This feature allows users to record and send short videos, similar to the voice note feature.
- To send a video message on WhatsApp, open the chat of the intended recipient and tap the microphone button at the bottom of the screen. If the feature is available on your WhatsApp version, the button will transform into a video camera icon.
- To start recording your message, press and hold the button. You can continue recording by holding the button or slide upwards to lock the recording, similar to voice note recording.
- Once you have finished recording, tap the paper plane icon to send the video message.
- If the video message is sent successfully, a circle with a preview of the video will appear in the chat. Tapping on the circle will enlarge it and start playing the video with audio.
One notable advantage of this feature is the ability to switch between the front and rear cameras of your smartphone while recording.
It is essential to note that just like WhatsApp text messages, short video messages are end-to-end encrypted. This encryption ensures the security of your conversations, making them inaccessible to anyone, including WhatsApp itself.
