A faction of Kiambu County Assembly Members (MCAs) is considering initiating impeachment proceedings against Governor Kimani Wamatangi.
Through Limuru East MCA Paul Macharia, the ward representatives are claiming incompetence, ineffective leadership, and the governor’s incapacity to effectively oversee the county’s progress.
As per the MCAs, the electorate of Kiambu elected them to fulfill legislative, oversight, and representative roles within the county assembly. They emphasise the importance of the county leader honouring this mandate.
In a different perspective, Peter Wainaina, popularly known as Boxer, the MCA for Karuri Ward, has urged Governor Wamatangi to allocate more financial resources to development initiatives throughout the county. Wainaina believes that by doing so, the people of Kiambu will be able to access high-quality services conveniently.
Furthermore, Ruth Waithera, who serves as the MCA for Githiga, has appealed to Governor Wamatangi to promptly fill all departmental chief officer positions in order to achieve a fully functional government.
Waithera, attributing the governor’s lone approach as a setback, believes that this measure will enhance the effectiveness of his administration.
