Alex Okosi, the current Managing Director for YouTube in EMEA Emerging Markets, has been appointed to a new role as Managing Director for Google in Africa.

In this capacity, Okosi will oversee Google’s operations across the African continent, including initiatives aimed at fostering business growth and economic development. He will also focus on expanding internet access and providing tools to enhance the online experience for the next billion users in Africa.

Meir Brand, Vice President, EMEA Emerging Markets at Google, praised Okosi’s leadership and extensive experience in the media and technology sectors. He highlighted Okosi’s deep understanding of African countries and his commitment to using technology to empower individuals and businesses.

Alex Okosi is a highly regarded figure in the media, entertainment, and technology industries. Before joining YouTube, he served as the Executive Vice President and Managing Director of Viacom International Media Networks Africa and BET International.

During his tenure at YouTube, Okosi played a pivotal role in driving the platform’s growth and expansion in Africa, the Middle East, and Turkey.
