Esther Akoth, famously known as Akothee, has taken a firm stance in response to criticism from Kenyans, asserting that she is now living the life she wished she could have experienced in her twenties.
Akothee shared a nostalgic photo of herself with her three children from a time when financial struggles were a daily reality.
In a candid statement, Akothee explained that her early years were consumed by the responsibilities of motherhood and financial hardships. This left her with little opportunity to enjoy life as a young adult.
She further emphasized that she had been a single mother, taking on the roles of both mother and father for her three daughters.
“Sorry if you see me do things I was supposed to do when I was 20s. Just remember that I spent all my childhood being a full time jobless parent. Stepping up and being both father and mother to my 3 daughters. I spent all my 30s looking for money. And now in my 40s, I am just picking up and starting life afresh ,” Akothee said.
Akothee noted that while she may be living a lifestyle more commonly associated with someone in their twenties, her mindset is that of a 40-year-old. She encouraged her fans to focus on personal growth and financial success.
Disappointments and heartbreaks
Regarding relationships, she hinted that she has faced heartbreaks in the past. She however pointed out that her experiences as a single mother have helped her distinguish between disappointments and heartbreaks.
She playfully questioned the concept of being heartbroken repeatedly, suggesting that one should prioritize financial independence.
The singer and entrepreneur also addressed recent rumors surrounding her relationship with Dennis Schweizer, also known as Mr. Omosh, her Swiss partner with whom she had a colorful wedding earlier in the year.
Speculation arose due to Omosh’s absence from Akothee’s social media posts, leading to assumptions about their relationship status.
Akothee’s request for space from her fans further fueled the speculations.
