In a dramatic twist of events on Monday, a suspected wanted fugitive met his untimely end in a deadly confrontation with the police in Kehancha, Migori County.

According to witness reports, law enforcement authorities closed in on their target, leading to a firefight that ultimately claimed the life of the suspect.

During the encounter, the police seized a makeshift firearm containing 13 bullets from the lifeless suspect.

The suspect was confirmed to be a 40-year-old male.

This fugitive had been the subject of an intense manhunt after allegations of involvement in various robbery and murder cases within the Kuria West region.

The operation that led to this fatal showdown commenced on Monday afternoon when a police team pinpointed the location where the fugitive had sought refuge. The confrontation escalated rapidly, resulting in a shootout in which the fugitive was fatally wounded.

Regrettably, while the suspected wanted thug met his demise, two of his alleged accomplices managed to evade capture, fleeing the scene on foot. The police are currently intensifying their efforts to locate and apprehend these fugitives who remain at large.

During the subsequent search, law enforcement discovered significant items in the possession of the deceased suspect. These items included a wooden homemade firearm, 13 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, and a spent cartridge of the same caliber.

Additionally, a motorcycle believed to be associated with the suspects and two smoke jackets were also recovered from the scene.

The body of the deceased fugitive has been transported to the local mortuary, awaiting an autopsy.
