Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested four men suspected of stealing Sh94 million belonging to Quickmart supermarket.
The money, originating from a supermarket’s sales last weekend was en route to a bank before it disappeared on Monday.
Yesterday, the owner of the vehicle used in the heist was arrested in Rongai, and the vehicle itself was traced to Njiru in Kayole.
In Njiru, two additional suspects were caught attempting to modify the vehicle to conceal its identity, according to the police report.
Expanding investigative efforts to Thika Road Mall (TRM) in Kasarani led to the arrest of a fourth suspect at his rented residence.
During this operation, the police successfully recovered Ksh9.1 million from the total stolen amount of Ksh94 million.
Additionally, an empty cash box was discovered in the forest adjacent to Gataka market in Karen, believed to be the location where the stolen cash was distributed among the suspects.
All crime scenes have been processed by the Crime Scene and Investigation (CSI) Nairobi Region, as per the police report.
