Kisii man kills his brother’s wife and two children over family dispute

Police officers in Rioma police station in Marani sub county, Kisii are holding a 27 year old man who surrendered himself to the police officers after killing his sister-in-law and her two children in Nyabuogi village.

Alex Ayata is said to have butchered Edna 22 year old Moraa Nyairo and her two children Quinter Kemunto and Mark Dismas four and three years respectively on Tuesday evening over a family dispute.

Marani Sub County Police Commander Benjollife Munuve said the suspect presented himself to the police on Tuesday night and confessed to having committed the heinous act.

“The said suspect went into hiding after committing the act and later surrendered himself in Rioma police station where he was arrested and put in custody,” said the sub county police commander.

Further the sub county police commander said, the suspect confessed to have killed the victims because of a long standing family dispute

The police boss said they will arraign the suspect in court any time from now to face murder charges.

The incident has left Nyabuogi village in shock with reports that the suspect wanted to kill his brother too and other family members.

Irate villagers stormed into the homestead and torched houses belonging to the suspect and that of the victims.
