A first-year student from the Kisii Polytechnic College has been killed by her boyfriend after she attempted to break up with him.The suspect, a 27-year-old man who had travelled from Isebania in neighbouring Migori County is alleged to have stabbed Jamilla to death in a fit of rage

According to reports, the couple had been arguing on social media before the murder. The suspect is said to have waylaid Jamilla while she was heading to a cyber café and killed her.

When we arrived, we found that the lady had been killed by the boyfriend; it is also emerging that the man is an ex-boyfriend. We found the lady’s body on the floor,” said the police.

“The suspect had gone to visit the lady for reasons we do not know, and they started quarrelling,” he said.

Jamilla’s mother, Ms. Ouma, had warned the suspect against seeing her daughter after she had complained to her that he was disturbing her and interfering with her studies.

The suspect was arrested and is currently in police custody. He is expected to be charged with murder.
