Legendary disc jockey Peter Chuani, popularly known as DJ Pinye, is grieving the loss of his father.
The seasoned disc jockey shared the somber news on Instagram, describing the passing as a ‘profound loss’ that has created an ‘indescribable void’ in his heart.
In the heartfelt post, DJ Pinye expressed his deep sorrow, stating, “It is with deep sorrow that I reveal the profound loss of my beloved father, his departure leaving an indescribable void. Despite my hopes for 2024, finding solace in the end of his pain is bittersweet…”
A mere four days ago, DJ Pinye provided an update on his father, who had been battling Alzheimer’s disease—a progressive condition that affects memory and cognitive functions, commonly associated with the elderly.
In a previous Instagram post, he informed his followers about his role as his father’s caregiver and shared that he was reading a book on managing Alzheimer’s. He encouraged those with family members facing similar challenges to explore the resource.
“As you all know by now, I have become a caregiver after we discovered my dad has Alzheimer’s. Now the thing is if you all don’t know, I have ADHD, so I am quite a slow reader, but I have challenged myself in 2024 to read this book because it has very powerful information that would let my father live the rest of his life comfortably,” he shared.
“I recommend anyone going through the same to get this book because it also talks about how to prevent Alzheimer’s just by changing diet.”
Pinye initially disclosed his father’s Alzheimer’s diagnosis in September 2023, revealing the pain of witnessing his father’s memories fade away.
However, he also found relief in incorporating coconut oil into his father’s diet, noting that it miraculously helped restore some of his lost memories.
At an event in 2016 named ‘Grown and Sexy,’ where DJ Pinye celebrated his 45th birthday and announced his retirement from DJ’ing, his father attended.
During the event, DJ Pinye’s mixes prompted his father to rise from his seat and join him on the dance floor, moving the veteran entertainer to tears. The emotional moment culminated with both father and son embracing at the DJ booth, overwhelmed by the shared experience.
