Police in Kiambu have arrested a man who tragically hacked and killed an 8-year-old boy who is also the son of his ex-lover. The suspect also injured a woman in the tragic incident that occurred in Ndenderu area.

According to police reports, the assailant reportedly ambushed the boy outside the gate of the home, where the child lived with the man’s ex-lover.

Law enforcement officials state that the perpetrator gained entry into the home, where he brutally murdered the boy by hacking.

He then attacked the househelp in an attempted to also kill her.

The quick-thinking housemaid however raised alarm, alerting neighbors to the unfolding incident. Neighbours responded within minutes and luckily the househelp evaded possible death with the suspect escaping.

Unfortunately, in his attempt to escape, the suspect fell into a pit and was unable to get out. Police officers who responded to the incident were able to pull him out with the assistance of Kiambu firefighters.

The man’s ex-lover, present in the house during the attack, narrowly escaped harm.

Meanwhile, the injured woman is currently receiving medical treatment at Kiambu Level 5 Hospital. The young boy’s lifeless body has also been transported to Kihara Hospital Mortuary pending a post-mortem examination.
