Actor and singer Pascal Tokodi and former NTV’s Crossover host Grace Ekirapa are now confirmed to be living separately, according to reliable sources.
The couple, who quietly exchanged vows in an exclusive ceremony in October 2020, has faced a series of challenges, ultimately leading to their split in November 2023.
An insider – an invited guest present at their private wedding – disclosed that the strain of maintaining a lavish lifestyle on limited resources played a significant role in their breakup.
The source further claimed that Tokodi, as the primary breadwinner, bore all financial burden in the relationship, while Ekirapa took on the role of a stay-at-home mom.
Despite presenting a seemingly flawless marriage on social media, the couple was grappling with private financial challenges in the background.
“Pascal and Grace haven’t been living together for two months now. They parted ways last November [2023]. Pascal moved back to Karen, where he had been living before they met, and Grace remained in Limuru, where they had been living together.”
Financial constraints emerged as a crucial factor in the breakdown of their marriage.
However, other non-financial issues also played a part in the separation of the celebrity couple.
According to reports, Ekirapa had ongoing issues with Pascal’s friends, causing a rift that led to severed friendships. Apparently according to this source, Ekirapa was uncomfortable with the kind of friends Pascal kept.
“Ever since he married Grace, she has always had an issue with Pascal’s friends,” the source stated.
Notably, neither Pascal nor Grace owned a car when they got married. The insider suggested that, as a celebrity couple, they believed it was crucial to invest in a vehicle.
However, differences arose in the choice of the car, with Ekirapa advocating for a more expensive model, leading to Tokodi taking a loan to purchase the Mazda CX-5 at Sh1.9 million. Pascal had opted for a Mazda demo owing to their financial situation but was ruled out by Ekirapa.
The source added that the hunk actor is reportedly still servicing the car loan to date.
