A 36-year-old businesswoman, Nduta Wangai, has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly attempting to run over her boyfriend’s wife, Rebecca Ngumi, during a dispute over the man and their shared residence.

The incident is said to have occurred on January 5, 2024, at Ridgeways Estate in Starehe Sub-county, Nairobi.

Wangai is accused of deliberately hitting and trying to run over Ngumi with a car.

In addition to the attempted murder charge, Wangai is also facing another charge of malicious damage to property, involving property belonging to Ngumi valued at Sh1 million.

This includes damage to Ngumi’s gate, garage wall, and her Mercedes Benz.

Ngumi, who was getting ready for work, heard activity at her gate and instructed her house help to investigate. The house help then discovered Wangai at the gate, leading to the alleged confrontation and subsequent attack.
