A 25-year-old man, identified as Daniel Mwinzi, sustained a fractured hand on Saturday night after reportedly jumping from the fourth floor of a rental building in Sunrise Estate, Embu Town.

According to authorities, Mwinzi had been visiting a female friend at the time of the incident when her husband suddenly arrived home prompting him to jump.

Chief Sammy Njagi of Kamiu location confirmed the incident, stating that he received a call from a tenant in the apartment around 6 a.m., alerting him to someone jumping from the building. Upon arrival at the scene, Chief Njagi found Mwinzi in pain, holding his left arm, and determined that he had sustained a fracture.

Reports suggest that Mwinzi may have been attempting to flee from the woman’s house. Allegedly, he climbed the stairs leading to the balcony before making the jump.

“The man was in the company of a woman with whom they had spent last night partying at a nearby nightclub. It is not really clear why he jumped,” Chief Njagi explained.

Embu police arrived at the scene shortly afterward and transported the injured man to Embu Level Five Hospital for treatment. Authorities have since questioned the woman who owns the house where the incident occurred.
