Kisii governor Simba Araati had been ordered to appear personally in court during the hearing of a contempt case against him in the ongoing boundary dispute with Nyamira over Keroka town.

Environment and Land Court judge Mugo Kamau has ordered Arati and Kisii Acting County Secretary Robert Ombasa to be present on March 12 for the hearing of an application by Rigoma ward MCA Nyambega Gisesa that seeks to have the governor arrested.

“Due to the urgency and sovereignty of the issue mentioned in the application and the gravity of the matter , the same will be mentioned in open court on 12/03/2024 at 10.30 am, ” ordered Justice Kamau.

Last month, the court determined that a larger section of Keroka belongs to Nyamira.

The Kisii Court Government has already appealed the judgement.
